Local SEO

Most local searches never reach a website.

Someone searches, sees three businesses in a map pack, taps one and calls. Your website was never opened. Local SEO is the work of being one of those three, and of making sure the call that follows actually gets answered.

What local SEO actually involves.

Google Business Profile

Categories, service areas, hours, attributes, products and services, photos and posts. The single highest-leverage asset in local search, and the one most often left half-filled.

Citations and NAP consistency

Your name, address and phone number identical everywhere it appears. Inconsistency here quietly suppresses map pack visibility.

Reviews

Volume, recency, rating and whether you reply. Reviews feed ranking and they feed the decision the customer makes after the ranking.

Location and service pages

A real page for each place you genuinely serve, with content specific to that place rather than the same paragraph with the city name swapped.

Local links

Chambers, suppliers, sponsorships, local press. Geographic relevance is a signal that national link building does not provide.

Proximity reality

Distance from the searcher is a factor you cannot change. We will tell you honestly how far your radius realistically reaches rather than selling you a county you cannot rank in.

The part most agencies skip.

Ranking in the map pack produces phone calls, and phone calls are where local marketing usually breaks. A missed call at four in the afternoon is a customer who has already called the next business on the list by four minutes past.

That is why our local work does not stop at ranking. The call handling sits right next to it, and for most local businesses fixing the follow-up is worth more than the next position.

See missed call text back and AI phone agents for the other half of this problem.

How the work runs.

  1. Profile audit and rebuildEvery field on the Google Business Profile completed properly, with the category choice made deliberately rather than by guess. Category is the strongest single lever and it is frequently wrong.
  2. Citation cleanupFind every listing, correct the inconsistent ones, remove the duplicates that split your signal.
  3. Review engineAn actual system for asking, at the moment the customer is happiest, rather than remembering to ask sometimes.
  4. Geographic pagesPages for the places you really serve, built on something true about serving them.
  5. Grid trackingRank measured across a geographic grid rather than from one point, because local rank varies street by street and a single number hides that.

Where we work in Utah.

We are based in Utah and most of our clients are here. These are the areas with pages of their own.

What it costs.

Local SEO is part of the SEO discipline at every level rather than a separate line item. Map pack work, citations and profile management are included in the plan rather than sold as an add-on.

Questions people actually ask.

Why am I not showing in the map pack?

Usually one of four things: the primary category is wrong, the profile is incomplete, the citations disagree with each other, or the searcher is simply too far away. The first three are fixable. The fourth is physics, and an honest agency will tell you where your realistic radius ends.

Do I need a physical address?

You need either a physical location customers can visit or a defined service area. Service area businesses can rank without showing an address, but they cannot rank everywhere, and using a virtual office address to fake proximity is a good way to lose the profile entirely.

How many reviews do I need?

There is no threshold that switches ranking on. What matters is being credible next to the businesses you appear beside, and keeping reviews recent. A steady trickle beats a burst followed by two years of silence.

Can I rank in a city I am not based in?

In organic results, yes, with a page that earns it. In the map pack, it gets much harder the further you are from the searcher. We would rather build you a page that wins nearby than sell you a city you will never place in.

Who owns the Google Business Profile?

You do. We work inside your profile with our own access, and if we part ways you keep it with nothing to transfer. We do not create profiles in our name.

Want to see where you actually rank?

We will run a geographic grid for your main service and show you the streets where you win and the ones where you do not.
