Google Partner Utah SEO, AEO & digital marketing agency
Google Business Profile optimization

Most local customers never scroll past the map.

A profile claimed, corrected and worked every week, so you appear in the three results people actually call.

Run Digital optimizes and manages Google Business Profiles for Utah businesses, verified in your business name with your own phone number on them. Categories, services, photos, posts, questions and reviews all handled, and the reporting shows calls, direction requests and where you rank across the map rather than a profile completeness score.

Why Run

Three things we will put in writing.

Every agency says they are different. These are the three we will be held to, on every engagement, from the first month.

01

The accountability factor

A standing meeting cadence, real project management, and deliverables with dates on them. You always know what shipped, what is in flight and what slipped.

You decide if we earn our seat at your table every month. There is no contract asking you not to.

02

A customized solution

Not a checklist run once and filed. What ranks in your area, and which competitor sits above you in which neighbourhood, decides what gets worked on first.

Ask for something specific and the answer is usually yes, built for you rather than pulled off a shelf.

03

Actual technicality

Not a sales rep, then a success manager, then an account manager relaying your question to someone who can answer it.

You talk to the people working the profile.

Why this works differently

For a local business, the map is the whole search.

On a phone, the map and the three local results fill the screen. Somebody looking for a plumber, a dentist or a roofer taps one of those three and never reaches the organic results underneath. Your website can be excellent and your ads can be well run, and if your profile is weaker than the three above you, most of the demand in your area is spent before either of them gets a chance.

A profile that keeps ranking

  • Ownership verified in your business name
  • Categories chosen against what actually ranks
  • Photos and posts added every month
  • Reviews asked for after every job
  • Every review and question answered
  • Measured on calls and grid position

A profile that quietly slides down

  • The listing owned by the agency's account
  • A tracking number sitting in place of yours
  • Whichever category Google guessed for you
  • Nothing added since the week it was created
  • Questions answered by strangers
  • Reporting that leads with profile views because calls are untracked
Your numbers, not ours

The arithmetic of being in the three.

Most businesses have never worked out what their visibility across the map is worth, which makes it impossible to know what is worth fixing. Put your own figures in.

What is a place in the map worth?

Take these straight out of your own profile insights and your own books. No benchmarks, no assumed lift, nothing here that we are claiming. It is the arithmetic of one month.

Your numbers.

0see you in the three
0call or tap through
0become customers this month
0from one month of map visibility
0a year, if nothing else changes

This is arithmetic, not a forecast. What it is genuinely useful for is working out which number to attack. In most businesses appearing across more of the area moves this far more than redesigning a website does, and that is not where the money usually goes.

The part nobody puts in the pitch

The profile is the asset. Never let somebody else hold it.

Hiring an agency to manage your profile is normal. That is not the problem. The problem is whose Google account holds primary ownership, whose number is on the listing, and whether a tracking number has quietly replaced yours. If the agency owns the profile, the agency owns your phone calls, your reviews and your map position, and ending the relationship means losing all three at once.

In your name, from day one

  • The profile, verified in your business name
  • Your own phone number on the listing
  • Primary ownership held by you, not by us
  • The rating and review history you built
  • Photos, posts and service descriptions
  • Insights and call history for the listing

What you find out you were renting

  • Manager access they granted you on request
  • Insights you only ever see in their report
  • A tracking number in place of your own
  • A listing that stays in their account
  • Photographs you never get the originals of
  • History that ends at the handover
In-house capability, agency price

Do you want to manage five marketers?

A profile done properly is somebody choosing categories against what actually ranks, somebody writing the services and the description, somebody shooting and uploading photographs every month, somebody answering every review and question, and somebody tracking position across a grid of the area rather than from one desk. That is five jobs, and most profiles get none of them after the week they were set up.

Building it in-house

Five hires
  • Recruiting, onboarding and managing every one of them
  • Salaries, benefits, payroll tax and platform seats
  • Your time spent taking photos nobody uploads
  • Nobody who has ever appealed a suspension
  • A profile that stops being updated in week three

Run as your team

One monthly fee
  • Categories, content, reviews and reporting covered from day one
  • A flat package price, not a percentage of anything
  • Thirty years of combined marketing experience
  • No contract, no notice period, no hiring risk
  • Everything built stays in accounts you own

The Utah picture

A state that keeps sending you new neighbours.

Utah’s growth is the reason this matters more here than in a flat market. New arrivals have no plumber, no dentist and nobody to ask, so they open Maps. They are loyal to nobody and they are not scrolling. Being one of the three results in their neighbourhood is the entire contest.

17.9%

population growth over the past decade against 6.2% nationally, second fastest of any state. A continuous supply of people with no incumbent supplier.

USAFacts, US Census data
99.4%

of Utah businesses are small businesses, 371,569 of them. Most have a profile Google generated for them that nobody has touched since.

SBA Office of Advocacy, 2025
45.4%

of Utah employees work at one of those small businesses, about 690,069 people. The map is the cheapest visibility any of them will ever get.

SBA Office of Advocacy, 2025
371,569

competitors, and the three places in the map cannot be bought by any of them.

SBA Office of Advocacy, 2025

That is the argument for this in one line. Every other way of reaching somebody in Utah is an auction against 371,568 other businesses. The map has three places in it and not one of them is for sale.

What the work actually is

Eight disciplines of profile management.

This is the list you would be hiring five people to cover.

Claiming and verification

Ownership verified in your business name, duplicate listings removed, and suspensions appealed properly when they happen.

Categories and services

The primary category chosen against what actually ranks in your area, with every service listed and described rather than implied.

Profile content and photos

Description, attributes, hours, products and fresh photographs, uploaded on a schedule instead of once when the listing was created.

Google posts and offers

Posts that take up more of the result and give somebody a reason to tap yours instead of the one above it.

Reviews and replies

Reviews asked for after real jobs and every one of them answered, because rating and recency both feed the map.

Questions and answers

The questions people ask answered by you, before a competitor or a stranger answers them on your behalf.

Citations and consistency

Name, address and phone number identical everywhere Google checks, because conflicting information is the quietest ranking problem there is.

Grid ranking and call reporting

Where you rank across the map at street level, plus calls, direction requests and website taps. A profile completeness score is a diagnostic, not a result.

See it in motion

Three results. No scrolling. No second page.

Profile work is unglamorous, which is most of why so many businesses leave it at whatever Google generated for them. The ones that run it properly tend to spend less on ads, because the free result sitting above the ads is already theirs.

How the work runs

The first ninety days.

Profile work goes wrong at the ownership and the categories far more often than at the content. This is the order we work in, and it is the same for every client.

01

Ownership first

Primary ownership verified in your name, duplicate listings found and removed, your own number back on the profile. If an agency or a former employee is holding it, getting it back is step one.

Your listing, your calls
02

Fix the categories

The primary category tested against what actually ranks in your area, with every service listed properly rather than implied. Usually the least glamorous and most valuable week.

You keep the research
03

Feed it on a schedule

Photos, posts, products and answers added every month, so the profile keeps moving rather than sitting still.

04

Ask for reviews, and answer them

Requests after real jobs and a reply on every review, because rating and recency both feed the map.

05

Report against calls and position

Where you rank across the grid, and how many calls, direction requests and taps the profile produced. Profile views are how we diagnose, not what we report as the result.

The findings get written down. You keep them either way.

What we run today

Thirty-five clients. Four years. One roof.

35Active clients whose marketing we run right now
4 yearsRunning this model under one roof, with the same team
30 yearsCombined marketing experience, agency side and in-house
0Clients whose profile we own instead of them

Those are counts, not projections. We have deliberately not printed an industry benchmark or a return figure on this page, because published averages across every industry tell you almost nothing about your area. The calculator above uses your numbers instead. If you want to see real grid reports and what they did over time, ask on the call and we will pull actual reporting rather than a designed graphic.

Run Digital team presenting local search results to a Utah client
Profile work across Utah

Salt Lake, Utah County, and the rest of the Wasatch Front.

We manage profiles for businesses in Salt Lake City, Provo, Orem, Lehi, Ogden, West Jordan, St. George and across the state. A clinic that ranks on its own street and nowhere else, a contractor suspended over a service area nobody explained to them, a shop whose newest photograph is four years old.

It does not work alone

A profile is strongest when everything else agrees with it.

Google reads your profile alongside everything else it knows about you. These are the channels that back it up.

Marketing automation

Does the follow up that gets skipped when the week gets busy.

CRM

Keeps every enquiry in one place so none of them quietly go cold.

Acquisition and LTV

Works out what a customer is worth before you decide what one is worth buying.

Local Services Ads

Google charges you per lead and decides what counts as one. We run the profile, the disputes and the pacing.

Before you ask

Profile questions we get every week.

We can usually improve where you appear and across how much of your area, which is the honest version of the same question. Three slots exist and they change by the street somebody is standing on, so the work is about appearing in the three across more of your service area rather than ranking first everywhere. Proximity is a real factor and nobody can move your building, which is why we measure on a grid rather than from one postcode.

Often, and the cause is usually one of a short list: a service area business showing a street address, a name stuffed with keywords, a category that does not match the business, or a change made too quickly after verification. We work out the likely cause, fix it, then appeal with evidence rather than reapplying blindly, because repeated failed appeals make reinstatement harder.

You do, and we will not take primary ownership. The listing stays verified in your business name, your phone number stays on it, and we work as a manager you can remove at any time. If you leave, the profile, the reviews and the photographs stay exactly where they are.

Not to rank, but it changes how you rank. A business customers visit can show its address and gains proximity to searches near it. A service area business hides the address and competes across the area it serves instead. Showing an address you do not actually operate from is the single fastest way to get suspended, so we set it up for what you really are.

Weekly is plenty, and consistency matters more than volume. Posts are not a strong ranking signal on their own, but they take up more space in the result, answer questions before somebody taps, and signal an active business. One real post a week beats a burst of five and then two months of silence.

It is the biggest part of it, not all of it. Local SEO also covers the pages on your site, the citations across other directories, local link building and the technical setup Google reads to decide what you do and where. Profile work is where the fastest gains almost always are, which is why it comes first.

Because proximity is doing all the work and nothing else is. That pattern is what a profile looks like when the categories are vague, the services are not listed, reviews are thin or old, and there is no local content on the site backing it up. It is the most common thing we see and the most fixable.

It is published. Profile work sits inside our SEO packages, and the pricing page shows exactly what is included at each level. No percentage of anything, no setup fee hidden in month one, and no contract.

Start with the free profile audit.

We will look at your categories, your profile completeness, your rating and recency, and where you actually rank across a grid of your area, then write down what is worth fixing first. You keep the audit either way. Prices are published, so you can see what this costs before you speak to anyone.
