Know which half is working.
Run Digital builds the measurement layer underneath everything else: GA4, Search Console, Tag Manager and conversion tracking, all set up in properties registered to your business. The point is not a prettier dashboard. It is being able to say which spend produced which customer.
Three things we will put in writing.
Every agency says they are different. These are the three we will be held to, on every engagement, from the first month.
The accountability factor
A standing meeting cadence, real project management, and deliverables with dates on them. You always know what shipped, what is in flight and what slipped.
You decide if we earn our seat at your table every month. There is no contract asking you not to.
A customized solution
Not a template dashboard with every metric the tool can produce. What decisions you actually have to make decides what gets measured and what gets ignored.
Ask for something specific and the answer is usually yes, built for you rather than pulled off a shelf.
Actual technicality
Not a sales rep, then a success manager, then an account manager relaying your question to someone who can answer it.
You talk to the people configuring the tracking.
A dashboard is not measurement.
Almost every business we audit has analytics installed and almost none of them can answer the only question that matters, which is which spend produced which customer. There is a dashboard, there are sessions and bounce rates, and there is a monthly report nobody opens.
The gap is usually mechanical rather than philosophical. The conversion event fires on a page view instead of a booking. The form submits through an iframe nobody tagged. Phone calls are invisible. Two properties are running and they disagree. Consent was implemented in a way that silently drops half the data.
Fixing those is unglamorous and it changes what you can defend in a meeting. Everything else on this page depends on it.
Measurement worth having
- Conversion events that mean a customer, not a page view
- Phone calls tracked back to their source
- One property, one source of truth
- Consent implemented without silently losing data
- Offline and closed revenue fed back in where possible
- A short report tied to the decisions you actually make
Measurement that just looks busy
- Goals firing on thank-you pages nobody reaches
- Calls counted as direct traffic or not at all
- Two properties quietly disagreeing with each other
- Consent banners blocking the data they were told to keep
- Revenue that stops at the form submission
- Forty metrics and no recommendation
Price the part you cannot see.
Measurement is hard to justify because its value is invisible until you have it. This puts a number on the part of your budget currently being allocated without evidence.
How much of your spend can you actually trace?
Two numbers you already know and one you probably have to guess at, which is the point. If the third one is a guess, that is the problem this page is about.
Your numbers.
None of this says the untraceable spend was wasted. Some of it certainly worked. The point is that you cannot tell which part, which means every decision about where to spend more is being made with most of the evidence missing.
Never let the data live in someone else's property.
Hiring an agency to run the reporting is normal. That is not the problem. The problem is whose Google account the analytics property was created under while they did it.
Analytics history cannot be recreated. It is the one asset in marketing that is purely cumulative, and if the property belongs to an agency, your history ends on the day you leave. Every year-on-year comparison, every seasonal baseline, every bit of evidence about what worked before, gone.
We build in properties registered to your business and take access to them. Fire us on a Friday and Monday’s data lands in the same place it always has.
In your name, from day one
- The GA4 property, owned by your business
- Search Console verified on your domain
- Tag Manager container in your account
- Every year of historical data
- Call tracking numbers registered to you
- Dashboards and the queries behind them
What you find out you were renting
- A property created inside the agency's account
- Search Console verified by them, not you
- A container you have view access to
- History that ends at the handover
- A tracking number that stops working when you leave
- A dashboard that disappears with their subscription
Do you want to manage five marketers?
Measurement done properly needs somebody who understands the platforms, somebody who can implement tags without breaking the site, somebody who understands consent and privacy law, somebody who can interpret the result, and somebody senior deciding what is worth measuring at all.
We built our careers inside in-house teams before we built this one. Brian has twenty years in search and analytics. Quinn came up in-house at large publishers where the reporting was the product. That is the team you are renting time on.
Building it in-house
Five hires- Recruiting, onboarding and managing every one of them
- Salaries, benefits, payroll tax and tool seats
- Your time spent reading reports nobody can explain
- Tracking that breaks silently on the next site update
- A setup only one person ever understood
Run as your team
One monthly fee- Implementation, governance and interpretation from day one
- A flat package price, not a percentage of anything
- Thirty years of combined marketing and analytics experience
- No contract, no notice period, no hiring risk
- Everything built stays in accounts you own
Two of the five seats you would otherwise be recruiting for.
A market where the margins decide everything.
Utah is overwhelmingly small business, and small businesses cannot afford to be wrong about where the budget goes for very long. Every figure below is published and linked.
of Utah businesses are small businesses, 371,569 of them. Very few have anyone whose job is checking whether the marketing worked.
SBA Office of Advocacy, 2025of Utah employees work at one of those small businesses, about 690,069 people. The reporting usually lands on somebody who already has a full job.
SBA Office of Advocacy, 2025population growth over the past decade against 6.2% nationally, second fastest of any state. Growth hides bad measurement right up until it stops.
USAFacts, US Census datacompetitors, most of them guessing too. Knowing which channel actually works is a genuine advantage here.
SBA Office of Advocacy, 2025Eight disciplines of web analytics.
This is the list you would be hiring five people to cover.
Google Analytics 4 setup and repair
Configured properly in your own property, with events that mean something rather than the defaults.
Conversion tracking
Bookings, calls, forms and purchases tracked as the customer actions they are, end to end.
Call tracking
Phone calls attributed back to the campaign that produced them, which for most Utah service businesses is where the revenue actually arrives.
Tag Manager governance
A container that is documented and does not break the site, with a record of what fires and why.
Consent and privacy
Implemented so it is compliant and still collects the data you are allowed to collect. Most setups fail one side or the other.
Search Console
Verified on your property, with the query data that no other tool has, connected to the rest.
Reporting that recommends
A short monthly report that names what changed and what to do about it, rather than a forty-metric export.
Offline revenue feedback
Closed and won data fed back where the systems allow it, so you are optimising toward revenue rather than leads.
Measuring customers, not sessions.
The difference between a dashboard and a decision is whether anyone changed what they were doing because of it.
Things we give away.
We would rather be useful before you hire us than persuasive. Take any of these whether or not we ever work together.
Tracking audit
We check what fires, what does not and what is quietly wrong, and write it down. Yours to keep or hand to another agency.
FreeMeasurement checklist
The checklist we work from when setting up or inheriting an account, so your team can catch the obvious failures.
FreeTap to review cards and stands
Physical NFC cards and counter stands that send customers straight to your review page. We print them and send them to you.
FreeWebsite migrations
Stuck on a platform you do not own? We will move the site for free, tracking intact. Getting you onto your own infrastructure is the point.
The first ninety days.
Measurement work is mostly archaeology followed by plumbing. This is the order, and it is the same for every client.
Find out what is actually being recorded
We submit your forms, call your numbers and follow the journeys, then compare that against what the reports claim happened. The gap is usually the whole story.
Written down, yours to keepAccounts in your name
Property, container and verification moved to or created under your business. If the history lives in somebody else's account, recovering it is step two and it is urgent.
Your property, your historyFix the events that matter
Bookings, calls and enquiries tracked as conversions that mean a customer. Everything downstream is wrong until this is right.
Connect the channels
Ads, search and social wired to the same definitions, so the numbers stop disagreeing and you can compare like for like.
Report against decisions
A short monthly report tied to what you are deciding, not to what the tool can export.
The findings get written down. You keep them either way.
Thirty-five clients. Four years. One roof.
Those are counts, not projections. There is no percentage improvement on this page because measurement does not improve results by itself. It improves the decisions, and what those are worth depends entirely on how wrong the current ones are.
If you want to see what our reporting actually looks like, ask on the call and we will show you a real one rather than a mock-up.
Salt Lake, Utah County, and the rest of the Wasatch Front.
We do this for businesses in Salt Lake City, Provo, Orem, Lehi, Ogden, West Jordan, St. George and across the state. For most Utah service businesses the revenue arrives by phone, which is exactly the part that standard analytics setups do not capture at all.
If your tracking is already sound, we will tell you and talk about what to do with the data instead, rather than selling you a rebuild of something that works.
Measurement is how everything else gets judged.
This is the layer under the other channels. Without it, every argument about budget is an argument about opinions.
Paid search
Buys the top of the page today while organic earns it, and shows which keywords convert.
Display and retargeting
Stays in front of the people who came, looked and left without getting in touch.
Paid social
Reaches people before they start searching, based on who they are rather than what they typed.
Organic social
Builds the proof that makes every other channel cheaper to convert.
Google Analytics questions we get every week.
You do. The property, the container and the verification are all under your business. This matters more than people realise, because analytics history is the one asset that genuinely cannot be recreated after the fact.
Most businesses do, and in most of the accounts we audit the conversion events do not mean what the owner thinks they mean. Installed is not the same as configured. The free audit tells you which one you have.
Yes, and for most Utah service businesses this is the single biggest gap. If half your customers call and none of those calls are attributed, your entire picture of which channel works is wrong in a predictable direction.
Set up so it is compliant and still collects what you are permitted to collect. A lot of consent implementations fail one side or the other, usually by silently discarding data the business was allowed to have.
A flat monthly package rather than per report, with current pricing on the packages page. Most of the value is in the first ninety days of repair, and we will tell you if that is all you need.
Not if it is done properly, and a bloated tag container is one of the most common causes of poor Core Web Vitals we find. Part of the audit is removing tags nobody remembers adding.
You can, and we will build one. But a dashboard on top of wrong events is a confident way of being wrong, so we fix the collection first. That order is not negotiable and it is the whole value of the engagement.
There is no contract, so you leave whenever you want and keep the property, the history and the documentation. Measurement is also the one thing we would rather you kept doing even if you stop working with us.
Start with the free tracking audit.
We will follow your own customer journeys, compare what happened against what your reports claim, and write down every place the measurement is wrong. You keep the audit either way, and if the tracking is already sound we will say so. Prices are published, so you can see what this costs before you speak to anyone.
